Jereme Baker is the owner and Managing Member of Baker Law Group. Mr. Baker has extensive experience in the various practice areas of the firm, namely, Real Estate, Business/Corporate Law, and Probate. He has provided legal and business advice to many small to medium sized businesses through roles as both in-house legal counsel and as outside general counsel.
Some of Mr. Baker’s recent practice accomplishments include negotiating and forming a multimillion-dollar joint venture investment fund; assisting private equity client in acquiring over $30 million in real estate assets including drafting, negotiating and in the performance of due diligence; and assisting client in the negotiation and drafting of a $60 million-dollar commercial real estate development venture in Denver.
Mr. Baker has also provided advisement regarding governance, management and operation of privately held investment ventures, advisement regarding regulatory/compliance review, formation and drafting of corporate governance documents and board books, drafting of business formation and partnership agreements, drafting of commercial loan agreements, and negotiating, resolving, and litigating contractual disputes. In addition, he has advised regarding various real estate matters, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, drafting residential and commercial leases, and conducting real estate title and due diligence review. In the areas of probate he has experience litigating contested wills/trusts and probate contests, & advising clients regarding probate administration.
Jereme started Baker Law Group in 2011. He earned his B.A. from Rutgers University and his J.D. Degree from the University of Colorado. He has two preschool aged boys, and he loves taking them camping, hiking, and fishing and watching them grow up. He is a 2014 Recipient of the Billy Lewis Young Lawyer Award – Courage Under Fire Award.
Brian Petz is a senior associate and chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Department of Baker Law Group, LLC. His practice focuses on estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, estate and trust administration, and probate litigation. Mr. Petz has represented an array of clients in estate planning, including those with small, moderate, and large estates, as well as those with traditional and blended families. He has assisted clients in the administration of multimillion-dollar trusts and estates, and has litigated probate issues concerning, among other things: fiduciary appointment and removal; surcharge; common-law marriage; and heirship.
In addition to his probate practice, Mr. Petz has supported the Real Estate and Business Law Departments of Baker Law Group, LLC, recently assisting on real estate acquisitions exceeding $30 million in value, various commercial contracts, master service agreements, commercial and residential leases, and business formations.
Mr. Petz joined Baker Law Group as an associate attorney in 2015. He is a member of the Colorado and Arapahoe County Bar Associations, the Elder Law and Trust & Estate Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, and is actively involved in various organizations serving and advocating for Colorado’s senior population.
Mr. Petz earned his B.S. from Florida State University and his J.D. from University of Colorado Law School. Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Brian now lives in Thornton with his wife and three dogs. During his spare time, he enjoys hiking and playing hockey.
Dan Ernst is a senior associate with extensive experience as a Civil Litigation specialist and as general counsel to Homeowners Associations. He is licensed in both Colorado and California, and has a history of success in arbitrations, mediations, and mandatory court settlement conferences and was recently part of a trial team that won a $58 million verdict for 10 client families. He has helped HOA clients through complex compliance and land-use issues, setting up governing documents as well as assessment collections.
Dan earned his J.D. from New York University, and also has a Ph.D. in philosophy from Yale University and an A.B. in Physics from U.C. Berkeley. Before law school, he served as a Professor of Philosophy and International Relations at Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, Korea. He also served as a teaching fellow, teaching assistant, and research assistant at Harvard University. He grew up in Israel and lives in Denver with his wife Annie. They adore hiking and exploring our beautiful state and national parks.
Heather Warren joined Baker Law Group in 2021. Heather has nearly 20 years of experience as an attorney and specializes in water law, including surface and ground water rights, and she has extensive litigation and transactional experience in water law, property law, real estate law, contract law, and municipal state and federal government administrative law. Heather has experience representing state agencies, local governments, water conservancy districts, corporations, municipalities, ditch companies and individual water users in water right cases, transactional matters, and appearing in cases in Colorado district courts and in all seven Colorado water court divisions. Heather also has experience in representing clients in matters before the Colorado Ground Water Commission and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
Prior to returning to private practice, Heather served for 16 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Natural Resources Section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, where she represented the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife and the Colorado State Board of Land Commissioners and served for several years as conflicts counsel for the Colorado Ground Water Commission Hearing Officer. While at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, Heather represented the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife in their process of working with owners and operators of new reservoir projects in developing state fish and wildlife mitigation plans. Heather also represented the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife in several co-operative water groups, including the Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Project, the Northern Water Integrated Water Supply Plan (NISP), and Grand County Learning By Doing. Prior to her work as an Assistant Attorney General, Heather practiced for four years at a small water law firm in Arvada that primarily represented surface water right owners, ditch companies, private landowners and farmers.
Heather earned her B.A. from the University of Wyoming in English, German and Philosophy. Heather earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law, and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in Natural Resources and Environmental Law and Policy. Heather is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Water Law, Natural Resource Law and Government Law Sections. Heather has a 10-year old son, and they love to spend as much time as possible outside recreating in the beautiful lakes, rivers and mountains of Colorado and Wyoming.
June Torres is an associate attorney and joined Baker Law Group in 2021. June has experience in personal injury and landlord tenant law. June is multilingual and is fluent in both Spanish and French.
June gained legal experience with a diversity of entities. Prior to law school, she served as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm for three years in Phoenix, Arizona. During law school she served as a legal intern at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado with the honorable Christine Arguello. She also interned at a securities financial advising firm, an international mining company, and at the University of Colorado Office of University Counsel. These multiple internships provided her with firsthand practical experience to work in diverse areas of practice.
Prior to joining the firm, June gained experience in representing owners and property managers in residential eviction matters concerning nonpayment of rent, nonmonetary lease violations, and substantial violations.
June received her B.A. magna cum laude in Justice Studies and Minor in French from Arizona State University and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School. Originally, from Phoenix, Arizona, June now lives in Denver with her husband Francisco. June enjoys cooking, salsa dancing, hiking, and playing volleyball.
